The resolution condemns Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s statement that Israel must be “wiped off the map” and the regime’s ongoing pursuit of nuclear weapons. It calls upon the United Nations Security Council to condemn and reject his statements and to take measures to prevent Tehran from acquiring weapons of mass destruction.
