The agreement signed between NASA and the Israel Space Agency (ISA) states the two organizations will work closely to develop cooperative programs of mutual interest in the use of space for research and practical applications. Cooperation advanced in 1999 when President Clinton and Prime Minister Barak agreed to establish a committee made up of representatives of NASA and the ISA for the "development of practical applications in the peaceful use of space."
